Being a Scout

At 1st Emsworth we run an Eagle Troop to support young people aged 101/2 to 14 years of age. The Eagle Troop meets on a Wednesday in term-time from 19:00 - 20:30.

Our Scouts further develop their skills in leadership, outdoor skills, team activities and adventurous play as well as playing a key role in community events. We try to provide access to a variety of outdoor activities such as climbing, swimming and kayaking as well as more traditional pioneering skills and badge related work.

Our Eagle Troop nights are focused on achieving the nine Scout Challenge Awards alongside a minimum of 6 activity badges. so that all Scouts have the opportunity to achieve and receive the Chief Scout’s Gold Award - the top accolade for Scouts to wear on both their Scout uniform and Explorer uniform should they move up.

Each year the troop participates in camps and key community events such as the Emsworth Remembrance Day Parade and the annual raft race.
